Cloudy

It's not funny how I can wake up feeling prefectly awake, yet by the time I'm done with school for the day I'm rather exhausted.  Plus there are traffic issues-Like semi's causing delays for up to twenty minutes because they got stuck in the middle of the highway.
And I wanted to be early to school today. Argh.  Then I have injured my left shoulder somehow-it's been aching since the trip and I don't know what I did to it.  Trying to work out has been nteresting, as it doesn't like to go above my head.  Lifting weights is another thing.  I'm wearing out my right shoulder trying to compensate.

English

My current teacher for this subject gave us a funny quote the other day.  I don't remember who said it, but it went like this:
The english language is like a theif in the night, that robs other languages in dark alleys, riffling their pockets for words.
Given how our language is based in Germanic, with latin and greek playing for second, and us stealing words from french and other languages, it is a fair quote.
Not that we like to think of it that way....

Interviews.

The only thing more nerve wracking then school presentations.  You have to 'sell' yourself to whomever is conducting the interview.  And if two people are doing it, that adds to the pressure.
Snowed last night and into this morning again, but not enough to worry about.  Melted by the time school was done.  I had a two person interview, so I stayed at school an extra three hours for that.  Got my math test corrections done while there.
Hurt my left shoulder somehow, and today it was bothering me.  I think it was aggravated by snow shoveling over the weekend, but I can't be sure.  Not fun to hide during a job interview.  I'm glad I didn't have to raise my arm for anything, or it would have been really hard.

More Slide Offs...

What happens when bad whether mixes with poor driving-or just bad luck-and the driver can't control the car.  According to a news report there were over 130 slide off's in a 50 mile radius on Saturday.  One of those was my sister, who lost control while slowing down-go figure, she was fine until then-driving home on the highway.
She pushed the brake and her car just started fishtailing.  She kept some control for a little while but finally lost control.  She was turning into a skid-the only way to control them-and instead of heading right with the fishtail her car began sliding left.  Fast.  She tried to stop with the brake again but that had no effect at all.  She managed to turn the car slightly to the right before impact so instead of hitting the concrete barrier dividing the two lanes of traffic head on, she hit at an angle ans slid to a stop.  She's still sore-no surprise there-but no major injuries.  Her car is another story.
The drivers side front tire is gone and the front axle is a mess.  The lights on that side are gone as well.  The steering wheel turns, but the tires don't.  She started school today too-fun way to get back in the game....

Three Days

In a row that it's been snowing when I woke up.  Today however, it hasn't stopped.  I think we've gotten at least six inches by now.  There was a smal break where it lessend enough for us to clear the drive way and let it melt a bit, but then it came right back and covered it again. Sigh...
Got a job offer yesterday though, and I'm hoping it will work out.  Really tired due to shoveling.  Managed to make it so my dad didn't have to help at all-his back's been acting up and he shoveled yesterday.  And this way I get two hours of decent cardio in for today.  Makes it a little harder to get anything else done afterwards though...

Math

I will say this for my current math teacher.  They tend to give me more credit on homework then I do.  And they explain things better than the book does.
We got more snow today, but not much more.  My dad is not getting enough sleep, as he came home early yesterday.

Editing...

English teachers want you do have a classmate-referred to as a peer-edit the big papers in class.  My current english teacher had us do an oral one yesterday, then an online one-ie we sent two people a digital copy and they sent it back with comments-for today.
Thats not too much I suppose, but not many people know much about editing, and even less are good at it.  I've had some experience at it, but that doesn't make it easier.  And then we have to send a copy to the teacher as well.
We got more snow too, but most of it melted through today.  At least it wasn't enough to make driving risky.

Annoyed...

Had to get two more worksheets from my math teacher after class today.  Thankfully he didn't have too much trouble so I was on time for my next class.  The teacher for that one was sick anyway and their replacement was late.  Cloudy today.
Tried to email a possible job interview but haven't heard anything yet.  Did get a different interview set up at school.  Hopefully I'll have some luck there.
Need to do a first draft for an english paper and get it to two other students for peer editing by friday.  Still haven't worked out the details for it, but thats what peer edits are for.

Tired...

It is not a good idea to travel for over 14 hours straight-with the random breaks for bathroom and food-and get home at 11:30, get to bed after midnight, and then have to get up at 7 for school.  Plus having to drop younger brother off to school after the bus missed him and barely making it to class on time the one time you needed to be early-I was supposed to 'open' my first class this morning and hadn't gotten my stuff together so I had to wing it.  I hate doing that...
Plus I'm dead tired and trying to stay awake for the rest of that class  and the class that follows.  Then there's driving...
Snows melting today, as it warmed up for my little vaction-trip actually.  We went to California for a whole week-stayed in another city for a day or two to break up the travel time.  We toured my recently returned brothers mission during that time, though he had a hard time making up his mind about where we would go.  Plus nature chose that week to kick in my least favorite time of the month with a vengence.  So it's been a long supposed to be relaxing week.

Ow...

How do you take a bad time of the month and make it worse? give a dozen midgets sledgehammers and let them run loose behind your forehead.  I had really bad cramps this month-like I was getting kicked instead of  punched-and woke up with a nasty headache that same morning.
So no energy, a lot of pain, and a really hard time standing up straight-I either got dizzy or had to double over my gut.  I wanted to help my sister make breakfast too.  wasn't going to  happen though. Argh.  Found out I had two assignments for english this week-thankfully every other class was the standard one or none.  But the two english ones are going to take a little work.  Already got one in though...

Hacking

I can understand the allure of breaking into other people's stuff, but for me it just causes problems.  I had a friend this past week whose email account was hacked, and a link was sent to my sister and I (which is how we discovered and informed her of the problem) that made no sense.
The problem with this incident is that my sister didn't realize what is was and now has to change all her passwords, and my friend now has to revamp her stuff.  So that sort of thing makes things harder on others, hence why I don't do it.

Even More Snow

We had a storm that got nearly all of the state Saturday   Kinda scary, as I had to drive quite a bit in it.  Not sure how much we got either.
Got all of last weeks homework and most of this weeks done and in.  Spent Saturday doing a kind of early spring cleaning in my chore area.  My parents were gone most of the day, as were my brothers so I was alone.  Kinda tired afterwards, as I got a few other areas taken care of too.
Think I may have a job, but the interview's not til next week.  We'll see!

Spiders...

I just had one of these buggers crawl inside my keyboard.  Creeeepy.  I don't usually mind spiders, as long as they're in their natural environment and not on me.  But this was a small one and I think I squashed him, or he just died.
We got another layer of snow, but not enough to bother with.  Cold still, and wet.  But as my mother would say, it makes the ground look nice til it melts a little and turns hard.
Speaking of spiders, you'd think they'd be dead or in hiding, not crawling around my fingers.  But thats dependent on their intelligence level, which I don't know much about.

Humor

It can be quite funny when the problem you face has a very simple solution.  Not so much if you didn't think of it til much later though.
My keyboard problem was due to someone activating a filter setting on my computer so it wouldn't receive the keyboard input.  the problem with my car was corrosion on the wiring inside the new clamps we'd put in there.  Funny how things can become funny if you try not to let them get to you.
I've found that if I'm having a bad day, the fastest way to get past that is to walk somewhere-like school campus-and smile at everyone who meets my eyes.  Strange, I know, but it lifts my day that much more to see them smile right back and know I've brightened their day a little.
Another strange thing is I've been having weird dreams all week.  The first (and easiest to remember) was driving along a connection of highways and running into people whose cars were out of gas.  They kept giving me money to go bring them some, but I woke up while trying to find a gas station-saw the sign, but never found it.  Last night I had one where all the tires on my car were nearly flat, and not trustworthy to get me anywhere.  The others were too caotic to really find the basic story in them-at least my memory of them is.  Ah well, took my brother to class with me today and I think he's getting into the idea. Of going back to school that is.

Hmm...

I know teachers have a lot of students to work with, but it's kind of annoying when you are the first one to ask for help after class and they take time to help two or three other students before they actually help you.  Had that trouble with my math teacher.  My main issue was they knew I had a class staring in ten minutes, and they said they'd hurry.  Then they talked with another student for one minute, and helped three others for the next five.  Then we walked to their office where they tried to find something for me-I was asking about future assignments as I'm not going to be there next week-and they gave me two assignments I'm not worried about(they aren't due til march) considered two more that I don't need, and failed to find the one I did.  Plus I was then late for my next class.  Thankfully that teacher understood and didn't hold it against me.
We've been having fog again, and it's cold too.  Not as cold as it was in January, but I don't think we've gotten above 30 this week.  Supposed to snow on saturday.  That's going to be interesting.

Another one of Those Days...

Aggh.  This is trying to be a very bad day. Woke up tired, then dumped water in my lap while getting something to eat.  Got to school  a little later then I meant to but still on time.  School went fine, but I stopped to get gas on the way home and my car wouldn't start.   Found that it was out of coolant so I put some in but it still won't start.
Plus my drivers license is about to expire and I wanted to take care of that today.  Not going to happen.
And now my keybaord isn't working...

Headaches...

They come from studying for importent exams, teachers who while enjoy teaching have that tone that puts students to sleep despite their enthusiasm, brothers constantly fighting over silly things, dogs barking at the walls, lack of sleep, and indecisive people.
My english teacher enjoys teaching and likes their subject, but they have that tone of voice -even when excited- that makes it hard to pay attention.
I had a test today too, and I spent a lot of time yesterday and some today studying for it.  I did pretty well, but trying to cram todays math lesson, english's, and the other class the test was for tend to make my brain feel a little full.
